Welcome! Mabuhay!

...travel is more than the seeing of sights; it is a change that goes on, deep and permanent, in the ideas of living. ~ St. Augustine

Traveling to places near and far is both exciting and enlightening. Travel may be close by, within a region, or globally. Visiting a bordering city or island in where you live could give you a fresh new perspective in life. Though, we don’t really need to go so far out to enjoy ourselves and find beauty, because it is all around us… if you open your eyes, stop and smell the roses... you will get that sense of freedom. However if you are a world traveler, it opens up for a much wider point of view. How I wish someday, I will get to do that. Visiting another country and seeing how other people live and discovering their culture provides us with new understanding that we are all different and unique in our own ways, though we are all human… living and breathing on the same amazing planet, Earth…

Enjoy, travel and live life to the fullest!

Hollywood, California

(flying from Austin to Los Angeles)

On May of 2000, my husband and I attended his high school reunion that was held at the Roosevelt Hollywood Hotel in Highland, just a couple of blocks away from their high school campus.
Ten years later, here we are again... They are celebrating their 50th high school reunion! How awesome is that! We flew to Los Angeles and stayed at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel; the venue for the reunion as well. It was a two-day affair filled with activities, which includes a tour of the high school campus. Though, we didn’t attend any of them.

here's where we stayed at... The Renaissance Hollywood Hotel... it is part of the Hollywood and Highland entertainment complex, near upscale stores, restaurants, movie theaters and the Kodak Theater, home of the Academy Awards. A Hollywood Hills park with a jogging and walking path is less than one mile from the hotel as is the Hollywood Bowl. The hotel offering views of Los Angeles and Hollywood Hills…

getting together with Bill's old friends... Clay & Tina (a couple from his college days) and Gary & Mary (one of his childhood friends and his wife)

when in LA... have to pose by the Hollywood sign
Bill was recalling that when they were kids looking for mischief, they'd climb up that Hollywood sign!

HHS Reunion

the night has come... some of Bill's old chums didn't come to the reunion for some reason...

this was also an interesting night... when the emcee announced some of the alumni who lives outside the country and one of them who was sitting in our table... is actually living in Camiguin (six months in a year) in the Philippines! Imagine that... I could hardly believe it!

I left the table early and missed the Four Preps performed... I heard they were really good!

Driving in Bill's old neighborhood... going through memory lane…

we were told that this was once a house of Sean Connery

Bill's old home... when he was 4 years old, his family moved here. He lived with them for 19 years.
At the age of 23, he got his first major job at Ford and moved to Newport Beach...
